Deforestation - When there is large number of trees are cut down and the area become barren land.

Now,

How deforestation leads to floods?

Answer -

We know that plants hold the soil tightly, which prevents soil erosion.

Even there is not only floods but also Droughts.

When there will be deforestation there will be less transpiration and the are will get less rainfall. Soon ground water level decreases slowly.

Soil erosion - It is a process in which the top layer of the soil is washed away by the water, which is very rich in humus.
