Yes,Democracy can survive without education one of the best example of this is India ,when in 1947, India got her Independence and became a democracy most of the Indian population was uneducated still India continued to function as a democracy.However ,the effectiveness of democracy in improving the life of people depends upon how many educated people are part of democratic process and educated people will be part of the process only when general population is educated.

Effectiveness of democracy depends on education levels of society.

Democracy can survive without education but cannot be successful without education in its intended goal of giving the best out of life for every individual.

Because people vote to power likes of them.People vote those who are like them so, an uneducated mass is more likely to elect an uneducated leader and that’s not a good thing.

A Backward community will always feel sympathetic towards a backward person and uneducated people get swayed easily by emotions like sympathy.

In India many people complain : why many of our MPs ,MLAs are uneducated and criminals the answer to this is that the people who voted them to power are like them.

Why India is still a developing country despite being rich in resources and also after having got a lot of infrastructure in legacy of British Raj?

The answer is :because of low levels of education we could not make the best out of democracy
