We are dependent on the environment for each and every need. We humans can not sustain without the environment. Following are some things of daily use that we obtain from the environment:

  • The oxygen that we breathe in is obtained by us from the atmosphere.
  • The food that we each every day is obtained from the environment. Fruits and vegetables are obtained from plant sources and trees. The meat is obtained from livestock.
  • The clothes that we wear are largely made of natural fibers like cotton, jute, silk from the silkworm, etc.
  • The houses that we live in are built on the land. Raw materials for building houses are sourced from trees.
  • The paper we write on and the books that we read are made from paper. Paper is formed by cutting trees.

Thus, we can say that for even the little things we obtain materials from the environment and depend on other organisms for even food.
