After the World War 1, Germany was forced to accept the harsh conditions of the treaty of Versailles.
Due to these harsh conditions and a defeat in the war, Germany had faced a lot of hardships to build up its economy.
That is when the demand of strong leaders increased and eventually Adolf Hitler came to power and established dictatorship in Germany.
After the raise of Hitler, Germany's conditions improved as he proved to be  a very strong leader.

Explanation:

Hitler became Führer: when Hindenburg died, Hitler declared himself jointly president, chancellor and head of the army. Members of the armed forces had to swear a personal oath of allegiance not to Germany, but to Hitler. This formally made Hitler the absolute ruler of Germany
