Alauddin Khilji was the first Sultan to occupy a large part of this country.
Military of Alauddin Khilji was very powerful and opted a very well defined plan for his expandition.
Malik Kafur , led the Gujrat expeditions .Gujrat was a area of wealth and property.
So in 1299 Alauddin Khilji's army marched to Gujrat region via Malva. During this march Ruler of Gujrat was Rai Karan Baghela.
The war was fought between the two armies .At the end , Alauddin captured Gujrat.
In 1301, Alauddin captured Ranthambhore
