hey there,

By mid 1972, massive demonstrations both for and against Allende's regime were being staged. The country was passing through Economic slowdown. political violence began to increase. Even through the forces including the military leaders wanted to overthrow Allende's democratically elected goverment through impeachment, they failed to do so.

In the morning of September 11, 1973 the Chilean armed forces took over the seaport. Military commanders asked the president to resign. Allende refused to resign or leave the country, but realising the danger to the country and his life, he addressed the Chilean people on radio in which he made clear indication of his death.

As the president refused to resign or leave the country, armed forces surrounded the presidential house and started boming it. hence, president Allende died in the military attack. Thus a democratically elected goverment was overthrown by the military through the conspiracy and viloence.
