Answer:

Anne's stepping into adolescence has her assessing and questioning the things done by the adults near her. She observed the adults and their behaviour and was not very happy with their attitude, including her parents, the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel. In her diary, she writes that they are very much involved in her life, that they are overly critical, and at the same time, clueless. She also stresses upon the fact that grown-ups always have an opinion about everything, and that they never listen to her. Further, she feels her mother does not have motherly feelings and yearns for affection and kindness. She feels that adult life is not as virtuous and rational that children may think it is. Rather, it is more complex and is also filled with negative and positive actions. Elders do not allow children to create an opinion of them. The question is from "The Diary of a Young Girl".
