Helen couldn't understand the difference between " m-u-g " and " w-a-t-e-r ". Anne tried again and again but Helen couldn't comprehend the difference. So she took Helen to the garden and put her hand under the water of the stream. Then Helen understood that it was water.
This experience also opened the floodgates of consciousness and words appeared to be living and breathing around her. For the first time , she felt great happiness and sense of liberation.
