Ashoka adopted several measures to spread his Dhamma... he appointed some, afficers know as Dharam mahamatras to spread and explain the message of Dhamma.. the principles of Dhamma on rocks a d pillars ..

Ashoka appointed officials called dharma mahamatras who went from place to place to spread dhamma. They also went to foreign countries such as China,Sri Lanka etc.
