How did authors from the so called low caste gain recognition in the world of literature? explain with examples.

He wrote a novel in 1982 that caused a great caste oppression. This highlighted the story of a boy who belonged to a very strong caste and wanted to get away from this. Than he pointed out where that young boy got education and the whole thinking changed. 
He highlighted a fact that education can make a difference in people's thinking.
