Bannister helped Gilchrist by giving him a chance to escape from the door pretending to faint on a chair kept near the window. so that he could divert attention of somes towards him. He also tried to hide gloves .He did so because before working here we walked as a butler in Gilchrist's house so,he wanted to save him.
