After the establishment of Turkish rule in India many Sufi saints had settled in India. The earliest and the most important Sufi saint was Sheikh Muinuddin Chishti ,who made Ajmer his home when Prithvi Raj chauhan was the king.
It was in the true spirit of Indian history and culture both the movements prospered with out the least-ill will or conflict. On the contract, both contributedand influence each other's religious ideas and practices. Both these movements were democratic movements and preached simple religion in the language of the masses.
