As Bishambar was about to garland Bholi on the marriage day, he suddenly noticed pox marks on her face, and demanded five thousand rupees as additional dowry to marry her.
While Ramlal gave the money, Bholi announced that she does not want to marry this greedy person and asked her father to take the money back. Bishambar returned his baraat without marrying Bholi.
While her father was worried for her and asked her who would marry her now, she announced that she would never marry, she will stay with her parents forever, and become a teacher in her own school.
If I were in Bholi's place, I would also have reacted the same way.

Bholi got angry on this reaction of asking dowry (दहेज) by Bishamber Nath, in anger she threw up the veil (घुंघट) and said in a very loud & clear voice without any stammering (हकलाना) " pitaji ! take back the money . I am not going to marry this man . "
In a calm and steady (स्थिर) voice she also said " don't you worry , pitaji in your old age I will serve you and mother and I will teach in the same school where I learnt so much . "
If I were in her place, I would have done the same .
