During the time of the revolution that happened in Russia in 1917, the Bolsheviks actually did not believe the fact that socialism was actually possibility in Russia alone without the revolution in the developed parts of Europe especially in Germany. Since they were orthodox marxists they had actually believed the proletariats would actually spark the flame of socialism but the working class was a minority number in Russia. The Bolsheviks therefore did not actually establish a socialist regime. What they basically did was establish a capitalistic state which maintained a track of development of the industry along with the infrastructure.
