how did boys help the narrator?

Sneha200324: During the week the narrator stayed in the city the boys proved to be extremely useful to him. They took him around the city to places of interest. If they wanted a pack of American cigarettes, seats for the opera, the name of a good restaurant, Nicola and Jacob could be depended upon to satisfy their needs.
