Britain got unified to form a single nation after these events :

↪ The first major event that took place was the defeat of King Harold which took place in 1066 .

↪ After that few battles led to the formation of Wales .

↪ King Henry - II then conquered Ireland .

↪ Many years after the Act of Union was passed after the 17 th Century .

↪ This led to the formation of United Kingdom known as UK .

↪ Then another Act of Union created the Great Britain with UK , Scotland, Ireland .

Unification means the formation of state from small states . State means country here .

Answer:

  • English, Welsh, Scots, and Irish were some of the ethnic nationalities that existed before the seventeenth century, each with its own culture and politics. The English nation's influence over other island nations grew along with its wealth and power.
  • In 1688, the English Parliament seized control from the monarchy. It was used as a tool in the establishment of Britain as a nation-state, with England at its core.
  • The Act of Union between England and Scotland in 1707 created the United Kingdom of Britain. Scotland was eventually politically and culturally repressed by the English.

Explanation:

The establishment of Britain was not brought about by an immediate uprising or other turbulence. The dominance of Britain and the English over other civilizations was the result of a long-term, methodical process.
