When the British established their rule in India .
They disgraced our people, culture, values, traditions, religion etc...... they killed many Indians who were against the British. They tortured many freedom fighters, arrested them, disrespected them. They behaved so rudely. seeing all these the people decided to go against the British ,they wrote it through novels, poetry, books, newspapers, etc....... agate this Gandhi ji went in a peaceful way,....
and many others went in a violent way. By this we can tell the contributed to the rise of nationalism...

Answer:

The British system of rule gave upper-class Indians opportunities to be educated in Europe and to serve in minor government roles. A generation of educated Indians, then, were exposed to Enlightenment ideals of democracy and national sovereignty.
