Siddhartha came to the realization that essentially, life involved suffering from the birth to the grave to another birth to another grave....

He sought the cause of suffering and the resolution (freedom from) of suffering.

Siddhartha discovered that at the root of mental-emotional suffering was mind; and the root thought, the kingpin of suffering, was the "I" thought.

" Highest is the Bliss of Freedom from the Thought 'I am'."

How did Buddha discover the truth about life?

The Buddha did not discover the meaning of life. It has no meaning, it simply is.
