Answer: Burhan-Ul-Mulk continuously tried to reduce the influence of the Mughals in the Awadh region.

He cut down the number of jagirdars or the office bearers recruited by the Mughals.

The size of the jagirs was reduced, and he also appointed his loyalist to these positions.

The books of accounts of the jagirdars were checked to prevent fraud and cheating, and the nawab’s court verified these accounts.
