How did bustar protested against British and suppressed them?

The people of Bastar where self independent for the trees and their products to utilise them for their needs like their Woods seeds fruits etc but after coming the British colonial government they made rules on using forest and term forest and reserved forest for there only used for making ships.by seeing this the people of Bastar have got under depression and started revolt to become forest free and their products.They started cutting trees for their needs breaking laws looting bazar etc

(i) The British sent troops to suppress the rebellion.

(ii) The adivasi leaders tried to negotiate but the British surrounded the camps and fired on them.

(iii) Then they marched through the villages flogging and punishing those who had taken part in the rebellion.

(iv) Most villages were deserted as people fled into the jungle out of fear.

(v) The British could regain control over Bastar people in three months.
