The Chilika Development Authority (CDA), found in 1992, contributed greatly for the purpose of restoration of the Chilika Lake.

• The unique ecosystem of Chilika lagoon was facing issues like siltation, water spread are shrinkage, reduction of salinity and fishery resources, etc.
• In order to combat these issues, the CDA commissioned services of renowned institutes to study and make amends for the problems at hand.
