Chandra Shekhar self-proclaimed himself as Azad in court one day

Explanation:

Chandrashekhar Tiwari was born on 23 July 1906 in Bhabhra village of Madhya Pradesh.

He joined the Non-Cooperation Movement in December 1921 when he was 15 years old. During the freedom struggle, he was arrested. When he was presented before the magistrate, they asked for his name. This is when Chandra Shekhar called himself as "Azad" and stated his father's name as "Swatantrata" both meaning Independence. He also said that his residence was the "Jail".

After this incident, he became popularly known as Chandra Shekhar Azad among the people of India.
