In 1912, Republic of China was established by Sun Yat Sen. His aim was to establish a Western type of social liberal democracy. But, the domestic order could not be es-tablished and no political military force could control the country after 1916 , when Sun Yat Sen died, the country was split among the warlords. So, be-tween the 1912-49, there was no central authority for prevent chaos in 1919, Sun Yat Sen established “ Kuomintag” and established a military academy to train officers loyal to his ideas " 3 princeples of the people”: nationalism, democracy and people’s liveli hood which was a kind of democratic society and revolutionary army for Koumintag Chiang Kai-shek was a commander of army. But,Kuomintag moved to a non-liberal strategy in state bulding 

Communist, directed from Moscow, had joined the koumintag and tried to influence the movement When Sun Yat Sen died in 1925, koumintag was divided as right- Chaing Kai*shek in the North- South East, and left and communist controlled central China Communist were expelled from koumintag and organised riots against koumintag government Long March started, Mao Zedon grasped the leadership and eliminated pro Soviet Communists 

In 1937-45, China was ar war with Japan and Mao rebuilt Red army and extended his control over the country. The civil war of 1945-49, ended in victory for the communists and in 1949, Mao be-came first chairman of the People’s Republic of China. In 1949 Jiang fled with his followers to Taiwan
