In 1964, the Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India Marxist developed as a separate party. The development of a separate party occurred because one section of the communist party was supporting Soviet Union and Congress-Nehru standpoint, they were known as the rightist and the other section supported China and its leader Mao Zedong and came to known as the left communist party. This scuffle within the party occurred just after China criticized Soviet Union` s communism as revisionist and deviating from Marxism-Leninism. The relation between the two greater nations deteriorate tremendously and India also faced problems with China or border issue.
