Dalip and Mala are brother and sister. They study in grade five. Every Saturday both Dalip and
Mala get ten /ten rupees as a pocket money by their mother. Mala has a good habit. She always
saves her money by putting in her piggy bank. She loves the sound of rattling, while Dalip cannot
stop himself to go in the sweet shops wherever he gets money.
Last week, their mother gave them two shiny five rupees coins each. Mala kept her money into her
piggy bank while Dalip refused to put his money in his empty piggy bank. Being very excited
Dalip went to buy a big bar of chocolate. On his way the two five rupees coins fell out of his hand
and disappeared down a narrow hole in the road. By kneeling down, Dalip put his arm into the
hole but could not find his coins. His arm firmly stuck inside the hole. A number of people
gathered around him. Among them a lady who has a sweet shop, rubbed his arm with butter and
soap. Again she could not able to put out his arm. There were firemen also. Finally the two
firemen freed Dalip's arm by using a special kind of grease.
In this way Dalip lost his coins but he was not too upset by this experience because the lady
who owned the sweet shop gave him a large box of chocolates.
