Gandhi Ji introduced the idea of non-cooperation in his book (Hind Swaraj) for the first time. He appealed the people of India that since the Britishers had established their rule with the cooperation of Indians. Therefore, it will only be ended if they do not cooperate with them. Different people interpreted non-cooperation movement differently. For instance, Many of the people surrendered their titles and honors given by the British government. Many civil servants of Indian origin and began the boycotting of their services,  courts and congressional assemblies, foreign goods and schools. Furthermore, Many of the merchants and traders declined to conduct trade in foreign goods.
