1. Balkan was ruled over by Ottoman Empire .People were influenced by the feeling of nationalism and romantic movement . Balkan wanted to be a independent nation , it claimed that it was independent in the past and should be in the present. this led to struggles and revolt.
2. INTERNAL CONFLICTS :
The states of Balkan were jealous of each other and wanted to grow in power by obtaining more and more territory , due to which they started fighting among themselves.
This made Balkan an area of intense conflict.
3. During the same period , Russia , Austria - Hungary , Germany and England wanted their power to grow at individual level .
Because of this they wanted to capture Balkan.
this led to a series of fight and ultimately to WORLD WAR 1
