east india company came to india as merchants and started to live with Indians claiming they had come to india to sell good. slowly onwards they settled in india and started to put their ideas into politics. they wanted to exploit india of cotton and other goods. they would force Indians to make clothes out of cotton, and then sell it back for higher price. soon they started taking over the resources of india.
