first of all it came to our country for trade. it captured some place for their trade. they expanded their trade in our country. they dealt with nawabs and rajas for some place and in return they worked for them. They increased their boundaries both of land and trade. These led the expansion over our country

Answer:east India company was a foreign trading company which built up it's own army due to frequent conflicts with other companies.
Soon, it started the strategy of "DIVIDE AND RULE".
It helped the rulers against their enemies and took the control of whole state. The rulers became the puppets in their hands. That's how they extended their power in India
