Answer:Albert Einstein was depressed regarding the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and felt that the atomic bombing of Japan was unnecessary.

Einstein originally agreed to sign a 1939 letter which prompted President Frankln Roosevelt to pursue construction of an atomic bomb. However, Einstein agreed with the letter-writers only under the assumption that the Nazis were pursuing the bomb themselves (as they in fact were) and the fear that we might require the atomic bomb to defeat them.

When the Nazis were defeated without the use of the bomb, Einstein felt that his original justification for encouraging Roosevelt to pursue the project was gone, and that bombing Japan was unnecessary as they were already well on their way to surrender. In 1946, Einstein was quoted by the New York Times as saying, “that he was sure that President Roosevelt would have forbidden the atomic bombing of Hiroshima had he been alive and that it was probably carried out to end the Pacific war before Russia could participate."

Later books quoted Einstein declaring, “I have always condemned the use of the atomic bomb against Japan” and “I made one great mistake in my life…when I signed the letter to President Roosevelt recommending that atomic bombs be made.”

Answer:

true

Explanation:

Albert Einstein was totally against the use and preparation of nuclear weapons.

He moved to America from Germany as he feared that the Nazis could use his knowledge and research for preparing nuclear bombs.

When Einstein got to know that the Nazis had already prepared nuclear bombs for world war, he got worried about the world's peace.

As America didn't involve in the world war ,that time, Einstein's assistant urged him to write a letter on behalf of the public describing him about the destruction that a nuclear weapon could cause to the American president. Einstein described everything from how is it made to its consequences. When Japan attacked the American port -the Pearl harbor. America entered into the war and in return of Japanese attack they bombed the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

After this attack Einstein was very upset and wrote a letter to US to form a world government for sake of world peace but unlike the letter to the president this had no effect.

So, Einstein worked really hard to form a world government and worked hard for world peace.

This is why he is still remembered as world citizen. He tried hard to ensure that the incident which happened in Japanese cities will never happen again in future.
