The Enclosure Movement to increase food grain had impacted the lives of poor in various ways :
- The enclosure movement did not allow the poor to collect firewood, fruits and berries or graze their cattle.
- This movement also caused large scale displacement of poor and rendered them homeless.
- Being deprived of the customary work, they lost their livelihood. More worry was that they could not find any secure work.
- To increase their profit landowners, appointed the laborers only during harvest period. Work became uncertain, income became unstable for the poor for a large part of the year.
Hope it helps!
