in human beings fusion takes place through following process -
1. the males have sperms and females have ovum also called egg.
2. when the sperm coming from the males gets fused with the females egg then it lead to the formation of zygote ( new individual). the sperm enters the females through vagina
3. only the head of sperm will fuse and the rest part will not.
4. the males sperms contains half the number of X chromosomes and half the Y chromosomes called sex chromosomes .
5. the female age contains XX pair of chromosomes . if the Y chromosome fuses with females X then the baby will be a boy
6. but if the fathers X chromosome fuses with mothers X then baby would be a girl .
7. both the parents contributes half pair of chromosomes I.e 23 + 23 =46 so the zygote contains 46 chromosome and when it will fertilize it contributes its 23 chromosomes out of 46.
