Answer:

Gandhi ji was completely against the western education. He thought that getting educated in a western language is going to cripple Indian people and they are going to become puppets if the Britishers. Also they would completely forget about their own vivid and diverse Indian culture and will start appreciating everything that came from the West. He always supported the ancient texts and manuscripts and always endeavoured to encourage the people to learn the long lost languages. He thought English education was sinful and grave. The real education laid learnng things in Indian language.

on the contrary,Rabindranath Tagore was not completely against English education. he thought that people should be taught in English but then they should not be taught to laud the western culture and feel Indian culture is inferior. He also established shantiniketan literally the abode of peace in the year 1901. the children were taught in an open space usually under a banyan tree. there were no benches, tables etc. It was in such a way because Tagore thought that sitting in an enclosed space makes education boring.
