How did Gandhi revive Indian pride?

Gandhi promoted the idea of one Indian people, regardless of language or religion. He emphasized that the poverty was not shameful and encouraged Indians to celebrate their traditional values, instead of senselessly copying the ways of the British. 

He set an example of how to live a plain & simple Indian life, even though he was a sophisticated & worldly man. He lived on a commune forsaking personal wealth, devoted his mind to study of religion & philosophy, and refused positions of power while maintaining extraordinary influence.

Gandhiji was recently very rich man but the social conditions of people hurted his heart hrom then ownwards he decided to devote his life for dake of nation...he made people to overcome their fear..and helped them to hold their head high with pride....he followed non violence path which made him unique from others...hope it helps ...
