how did general pervez musharraf became the president of pakistan? why can't we call his government a democratic form of government?

We cannot call it as democratic form of government because he not been elected by the people, actually in democracy form of government only people will elect their leaders, musharraf he himself declared as the president of Pakistan and started to rule Pakistan, he is a dictator and it is a dictatorship government

Musharraf came to power after attempting a military coup. He overthrew a democratically elected government and declared himself as the Cheif executive of the country.Later he changed his designation to the President and in 2002 held a referendum.It is said that the referendum was based on malpractices and fraud.In August 2002, he issued a 'Legal Framework Order' that amended the constitution of Pakistan.According to this,the president can dismiss the national or provincial assemblies.
