The effect of Germany waging a genocidal war on others is that non-German people, not just the British who maybe the worst offenders, never cease to bang on about it to Germans today, who had absolutely nothing to do with it. The patience and restraint I have seen exhibited by Germans suffering under a usually ill educated verbal assault of this nature, or, even worse, bad ‘jokes’ about Hitler, the holocaust etc. is impressive and commendable.
