Gulliver became friends of Lilliputians when they realised Gulliver would not harm them. They found him to be very gentle and kind.. When they shot arrow one had hit almost his eyes but then also he had not punished them. They were extremely happy with his behavior and this made Gulliver friend of Lilliputians..
