the guru was a smart person. he used his wise knowledge and fooled the foolish king.
he told the king that he wanted to go for the stake first,on hearing this request the king was puzzled. on asking the guru away from the servants earshot the king came to know that the stake was a magical stake and whoever gets executed on it first will be reborn as the king and the second would be the minister.king didnt wanted to lose his throne .hence ,the following night the king went for the execution first and the minister next instead of the guru and the disciple.after their execution the disciple and the guru became the king and the minister respecrively
