In my opinion, as Helen Keller stated, nature shows its unkindness to us in various way. When we face the harsh realities of our lives, whether it is losing a spouse, child, pet, we have experienced nature be unkind.
As a farmer plants his seed believing for a great harvest and the winter weather comes unexpectedly and destroys his crops then he can safely say that nature was unkind. Likewise with a woman who for years couldn't get pregnant and then suddenly gets pregnant, she is extremely happy. Then in her ninth month of pregnancy she looses that baby, nature has been unkind to her.
As we live our lives nature will continually prove to be unkind in many different ways
