how did Helen come to lose her pet ?​

Helen was gifted a canary from her teacher Anne Sullivan.She named her Tim .Little Tim was so tame that she would eat from her hand and she would Crouch on her fingers and Helen could feel her claws .
But one day when Helen was preparing water for her bath she felt that a cat brush past her at that time she ignored it.but she soon came to realise that her instinct was right as on putting her hand in the cage Tim was'nt there.
Thus Helen had an experience of getting a pet , learning to take care of it and ultimately loosing it.
