There is an example in Helen's The story of my life . She communicated with others by signs with hands . It was her prop. When her servant gifted her a doll which was shapeless like a heap of cotton with no eyes . She felt very sad about it. The situation of the doll was same for her too. Next moment she asked her servant to stitch two eyes for doll by plucking two beads from her aunt's scarf.
