She learned to read the various Braille systems the same way that most blind people do.
As for the speaking, she met someone who guided her through it by allowing her to feel the throat, mouth and tongue so that she may replicate what she felt in her own way. However, full clarity was never achieved.
As for writing, her guide helped her by tracing letters on Helen’s hand and telling her what they were. Helen committed these to memory and could spell a few words. From then on, she used a grooved board to write.
