Helen shared that she was the first child in the family and so there was a lot of discussion as to deciding a name for her. Her father suggested the name of Mildred Campbell, an ancestor whom he highly esteemed. Her mother wished Helen to be called after her mother, whose maiden name was Helen Everett. However, the amusing thing was that when Helen’s father carried Helen to church he forgot the name on the way and when the minister asked him for it, he just remembered that it was Helen Adams.
