1. Henry Ford adapted a Chicago slaughterhouse assembly line to his new Detroit automobile plant.
2. The assembly line allowed vehicles to be produced quicker and cheaper. It forced the staff to mechanically and constantly perform one single job.
3. This increased their efficiency in the single task and also increased the speed of production.
4. No worker standing in front of the conveyor belt may pause the motions or take a break.
5. Initially many workers quit because they were unable to cope with the stress of work.
6. Henry Ford increased their pay, not only increasing the speed of production time, but also banning labor union from working in his plants.
