Nankaka or Mr Narayan Masurker, was a relation of Sunil Gavaskar. This gentleman had noticed a little hole near the top of his left ear lobe when he visited the mother and baby on the day he was born. Nankaka come back next day and pick uo the baby, only to find that it was not the one he had seen the previous day, as there was no hole in the ear lobe of his child. All hell brooke loose till young sunil was located sleeping in a crib next to a fisherwoman and things were set right.

When this incident was narrated to him later, Sunil Gavaskar drew a lifelong lesson from it. He learnt to observe things and develop an eye for detail. This trait stood him in good steadin his criketing career and the rest is history.
