According to him the Great Depression was a temporary phase and the market would set itself right without government interference. When he realized the depth of the problem he attempted some fiscal reforms which did not have any effect.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
He believed that the government should take steps to improve the lives of the ordinary people. He was ready to spend public money on getting people back to work. He started the New Deal which enabled the people to get jobs, food and money.
