Horace Danby was a thief who stole each year and made enough money to spare him a year and that could buy him expensive books. As he was commiting the theft at Shotover Grange, anotheryoung woman thief posed to be the mistress of the house and horace was scared. The woman lied that she had forgot the password to the vault in money was stored. She made a deal with Horace saying that she would let him go if he broke open the vault. he opened the vault and headed home. After a few days, the police arrested him for the theft at Shotover Grange. when he told the police what had happend, no one believed him as the mistress herself was a 70 year old lady with a sharp tongue. Thus, he was arrested and became the assistant librarian in prison.
