they were not allowed to go home they had to work only in the plantation they were not allowed to strike or work in other companies or leave the plantation without their permission

They ask the farmers only to grow indigo and if the farmers grow any crop other than indigo then harsh punishments were given to the farmers. The farmers didn't get enough money for planting indigo and the planters made them work all the day without giving them suitable wages
