How did issuing coins in the name of caliph muhammad bin tughlaq to rule?

Mohammad bin Tughlaq issued the token currency. In this system, coins of brass and copper were stamped with a value equal to that of silver coins.
Since there was no proper check, this resulted in widespread fraud. People started minting coins at home. So he had to abolish this system.
