Hello I can help you.
Mohammad bin Tughlaq issued the token currency. In this system, coins of brass and copper were stamped with a value equal to that of silver coins.
Since there was no proper check, this resulted in widespread fraud. People started minting coins at home. So he had to abolish this system.
Thanks.
Hope it helps you.

Explanation:
in 1329, Muhammad bin Tughlaq introduced a token currency. There was a shortage of silver during that period. So the Sultan decided to mint coins of brass and copper for day-to-day use as they have the same value as pure silver and further they could be exchanged for silver coins, at any time, from the royal treasury.
Muhammad bin Tughlaq, however failed to check the illegal minting of coins and thus, the treasury became empty.
